Butterfly Sheet Cake

Here is my take on a little spring fun in January :-) I made this white velvet cake, filled with a raspberry filling and iced in buttercream. The little butterflies and polka dots are made out of fondant. Sheet cakes aren't the most exciting "cake canvases," but at least they are simple!

Minnie Cake & Cupcakes

I truly believe it is every little girl's dream to meet Minnie Mouse. At least, I remember when I was a little girl begging my parents to take me to Disneyland to get to meet her and sign my autograph book :-) Needless to say, I was delighted making this cute little Minnie cake and matching cupcakes. Now let's talk about the cake. The Minnie hat is a white velvet cake covered in black fondant icing along with fondant ears and a pink bow. The bottom tier is also a white velvet cake covered in buttercream icing and adorned with fondant accents. I am going to spare you all the details of what consists of the structure for this cake, but that was most definitely a challenge!
