Spooky? Frightful? Creepy? Well, probably not since it's not my cup of tea, BUT needless to say, I did want to make some sweet treats for Halloween. I just love the look of polka dots! So simple, clean and modern. These are sugar cookies covered in royal icing with chocolate decorations. Happy Halloween!

Fairy Cake
Sometimes, with all the hectic on goings from life, I imagine that I am in a far, far, away place. This is a place where I am free of a timeline, free of commitments and free to eat whatever I want! Oh, how I love to dream. In my cake decorating class, I chose to depict my own fairy wonderland place. This is my attempt at showcasing this wondrous place. And yes, that is supposed to be me, Cakerbelle on top of the cake! The cake is covered in fondant icing and all the decorations are made out of fondant. It is nice to dream.

Beyblade Inspired Cake
Here is a simple cake made for a Beyblade inspired birthday cake. The cake flavor is one of my favorites, lemon with a vanilla buttercream icing. The decorations are made of fondant including the little push button. Oh, and you can only imagine, it was pushed, but all in good fun. Too bad nothing popped out of the cake :-)

Guitar Cake
Now, I know this isn't Journey's lead guitarist, Neil Schon's guitar, but little girls just want to have fun, right? Well, rocking it out from time to time makes complete sense! How else are you going to expressive yourself.
I was excited to make this cake since it was my first attempt at making a guitar cake. I didn't want to use a cake pan in the shape of a guitar since I find those to be limiting in size. I ended up hard carving it out and placing it together to form a guitar. The cake is chocolate with buttercream icing and fondant accents. Now, go ahead, rock on!!!

Bubbles Birthday Cake
Bouncing bubbles is what I think about when I see this cake. Well, the idea behind it was to do something festive for a 70th birthday fellow. I almost want to just try to pop the bubbles, but that would obviously be disastrous. I must be nuts. Probably a result of losing it a bit this week with all the cakes I have had to make. Anyway, this is a chocolate cake with a dark chocolate buttercream icing. The decorative accents are all made out of fondant. Now, it's nap time!

Hockey Cake
Happy birthday...hockey style! This cake was made for a hardcore Dallas hockey fan. He loves his team, so for his birthday, I made him in a little fondant figurine wearing the full on hockey gear, including his own personalized jersey. Now, that hockey season is in full bloom...let's go boys, move your "feets."
Cake is covered in fondant icing with all fondant decorations. Lemon cake with raspberry filling.

Halloween Spider Cake
Happy Halloween! This has to be one of my favorite holidays! Creepy, crawly, fun. A great excuse to bring out the festive, spooky decor and most importantly, make lots and lots of treats! Oh thank heaven for a fun Halloween cake :-)

Breast Cancer Awareness Cakes
Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted to share these cakes in the month of October! I know, sounds crazy, huh? Let's just say that between the full-time j.o.b., crafting, keeping up with my social ongoings, taking classes and baking and decorating cakes, well... updating my blog sometimes gets slightly behind. So, I am happy to say that I am on time for posting pictures of these cakes. These are all covered in buttercream with fondant accents and a ribbon border on some. The cakes are white velvet with raspberry filling, lemon with lemon curd filling, and amaretto with raspberry filling.

Hello Kitty Inspired Cupcakes
When I was a little girl, I remember my mom taking me to the mall, and the only store that I cared to go check out was Sanrio. This store carried all of the Hello Kitty items that would make any little girl go nuts! Well, I did go nuts in there, for a full hour! I remember spending hour by hour, countless of times at the Sanrio store. How can a girl spent 1 whole hour in there? I know, I know, seems a bit much, but I remember just taking my precious time picking up each and every item and oooohing and aaaahing over everything! Well, I am pleased to find out that Hello Kitty is back, and by popular demand! Now, everywhere I go, I see Hello Kitty items! The hard part now is for me to act not so interested when I have my husband with me ;-)
These cupcakes were made for the sweetest 2 year old that I know! She loves cupcakes and Hello Kitty. Good thing, because she got 4 dozen of these!
