Patriotic Cheesecake
Cake decorating can be a time of reflection for me. It is something that I enjoy doing. I release stress, and I am able to focus on making sweet treats that others will enjoy. I find much peace in that. One of the things I came to realize after making this cheesecake is that you can pretty much make any dessert look presentable if you just stick to simplicity. Ahhh, simplicity is still so new to my mind :-) I love to go to the extreme and come up with all sorts of design ideas, but sometimes it's just best to keep things simple. Well, here you have it! This is a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake on a chocolate crust with blueberries, raspberries, and chocolate shavings on top. Simple.

Leopard Print Cake
I feel like watching The Lion King or The Jungle Book after making this leopard print cake! Rawrrrrr....haha! Okay, sillyness aside, I was really happy with the way the leopard spots turned out on this cake. I hand painted the spots on buttercream icing. The banner on the top is made out of fondant. The cake is a yummy chocolate cake. Thanks for checking out my blog!

Tangled Inspired Cake
Now this was a super fun cake! It started off looking pretty basic:

Here is a slightly closer look at the cake. Simple and clean is was I was aiming for.

This tall and heavy tower or turret, as my architect friends love to remind me of the correct lingo, was attached to the top of the cake! Let's say this involved some wooden dowels, plastic dowels, pvc pipe cutter, a hammer (ouch!), well, I think you get the point. Oh, and last, but not least, there's CAKE!!!

I must give CC's Maria925 credit for the inspiration.
