Fondant Cake Numero Dos

Fondant cake, take 2! Our class project was to work on making flowers, embossing, and piping on to fondant. This was information overload for me, but it was such GREAT information to learn! This cake is lemon cake with buttercream filling and covered in fondant. The daisies are cut out in fondant and "glued" on to the cake. The piping is all done in royal icing. The color of the cake was a combination of blue, purple and pink.

1st Fondant Cover Cake (Lilac)

I decided to take another cake decorating class to help build on what I have already learned. It's all about fondant..kinda scary. Actually, now it's not so scary. It's fun to manipulate this edible art, especially when you are taught some useful tips and tricks. So, below is my first fondant covered cake. It looks like a hat! A very Easter looking hat! LOL! This cake is decorated in all fondant :-)

Two Tiered White Cake with Fruit

Simple meets elegant! My inspiration for this cake was simplicity and natural colors from the fruit. I was actually pressed on time and sick, so I needed to come up with a cake design that would suit that criteria - pronto! Needless to say, I thought this cake came out as I had planned. It's simple, colorful and elegant. The cake is white cake with vanilla buttercream and fruit stacked on the cake as the decorations. Now I am seriously craving some cake!

Zebra Baby Boy Cake

Welcome baby Viktor! I made this cake for my sweet baby nephew that was born at the end of the year. I love animal print, and I had been wanting to try the zebra stripes design for some time now, so I just figured that this would be the perfect opportunity! The bow and stripes are made out of fondant and the cake is iced in buttercream.

New Year Cake Pops

We had a bunch of family in town, including a lot of kiddos, so cake pops seemed to be the perfect NYE treat. With my fabulous sister-in-law's help, we decorated these cake pops in festive silver colors including using our mad artistry skills (you are awesome, Sara) and mixing vodka and gel paste to paint on designs! I know, I know, we tend to get a little silly when we are together. Anyway, to top off the cake pops, I arranged them in a bouquet. The cake pops are chocolate cake. These were such a hit at our family party!
