This is a sewing/crafty cake that I made for a birthday. I wanted it to look like some of the cake was "stitched," so I piped the birthday greeting and the sides of the cake with buttercream icing in a stitching pattern. It wouldn't be a good sewing cake without a needle, thread, buttons, thimble, and pin cushion! All of the decorations are made out of fondant. This is an 8" square lemon cake with vanilla buttercream icing.
