Bumble Bee Baby Shower Cookies & Cake
What's the buzz you ask??? Well, the buzz is that cute shower themes are IN! These days with ideas all across the internet, attending festive parties, and Pinterest, you can't help but just love to come up with fun ways to dress up a party. At least I do! I made some chocolate covered Oreos and decorated the cookies with a honeycomb print. YUMMY! These cookies are a bit addictive. I had to quality test a few, if you get my drift ;-)

The cake is an interesting 3 tiered cake. I wanted to add some height and dimension, but I didn't want it to be too huge, so I opted for this 3 tiered cake (10" double round, 8" single round & 6" double round). The cake is lemon with lemon curd filling and vanilla buttercream icing. The decorations are all made out of fondant. I finished it off with a bow and little busy bees flying on top.
This theme would also be super cute for a gender reveal cake!

Owl Baby Shower Cake
Look whoo's having a baby boy! That was the theme for this baby shower cake. Owls are so hot right now, and I thought what fun it would be to incorporate this cute theme into this shower cake. The cake is white velvet with raspberry filling, iced in vanilla buttercream, fondant decorations and a simple ribbon border. Thanks for checking out my blog!

Anchor Baby Boy Shower Cake
Personally, I just love the nautical theme! It's such a fun way to incorporate this theme into a shower for a baby boy. This cake I ended up carving out in the shape of an anchor and used strips of fondant for the stripes and added the final touch of "sand." I had such a blast making this one!

Wedding Cakes {I Did It!}
Let's just say that the anticipation was killing me as the date approached for the wedding cake and groom's cake that I had to make. Given the fact that it was my very first (EVER) wedding cake, I really was trying to do all of the necessary preparation to make sure that everything turned out smoothly and that no cake drama occurred. I can now breathe since it all turned out well! Yay! I can check that sucker off my list :-)
Wedding cake specs: white velvet with raspberry filling iced in vanilla
buttercream. Ribbon border with fresh roses. Breast cancer awareness
ribbon made out of fondant
Groom's cake: lemon cake with lemon curd filling iced in vanilla buttercream. Ribbon border with buttercream piping details

3 Tiered Cake {Modern Spring Edition}
Here is a spring edition cake that I thought would be a great opportunity to incorporate fresh flowers on this modern tiered cake. I must say with Pinterest, I have been pinning cakes like a crazy woman! I have really loved the different heights on tiered cakes lately, and thought it would be fun to test out that technique. I tend to work more with buttercream than fondant, so this entire cake is iced in buttercream with a ribbon border and fresh flowers. Thanks for stopping by!

Ruffled Baptism Cake
I think the "ruffled" effect on cakes should be used more often! It adds great texture to cakes and makes for a nice contrast when paired with a smooth cake. I made this cake for a little girl's baptism. My idea for the ruffled bottom tier was to resemble a skirt...well, sort of. I just wanted to keep the design simplistic since I was adding that textured look and wanted that to stand out by itself. Cake is all iced in buttercream with silver dragees for the cross and a fondant top. Thanks for looking!

Patriotic Cake
I had a patriotic themed cake to make for a U.S. citizenship gathering, and decided to make this simple, tiered cake. This cake is all iced in buttercream with fondant details. I thought the spray of stars for the topper would resemble a burst of fireworks to add height to the cake. The only thing I regret was not getting a chance to take a picture of the inside of the cake :-( I made the inside red, white and blue to look like the American flag in each slice of cake. I guess I will have to re-attempt this for Independence Day! Until next time!

Princess Cupcakes
Fairytales, princesses, two precious little girls were all the inspiration to make these cupcakes. What little girl does not love to play pretend and act like a princess? Wait...just little girls??? Not any girl??? Okay, never mind :-)
These cupcakes are vanilla and chocolate with a vanilla buttercream icing. The toppers are all made out of fondant. I painted the princess corsets on white fondant to make them pop a little more and not blend in with the yellow buttercream. These were well received by the real princesses!!!
